Your First Visit

If this is your first visit or if it’s been some time since your last chiropractic session your appointment will begin with time set aside to get to know you properly.

This includes:

  • A relaxed discussion about your health concerns and goals
  • A detailed health history, including previous injuries, current medication, and relevant medical conditions
  • An assessment to better understand how your body is functioning and how chiropractic care may support you

From there, care is tailored specifically to your needs, ensuring a thoughtful, personalised approach rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a healthcare approach that works on the nervous system, improving how your brain and body communicate, reducing the physiological stress load your system is carrying, and building the adaptive capacity that lets you stay well.

Your chiropractor will assess the spine, identify areas of stress, restriction, or irritation, and create a personalised care plan to restore normal function.

When the spine isn’t moving or balancing correctly, it can place extra strain on muscles, joints, and nerves. This can lead to symptoms such as:

  • Pain or stiffness
  • Muscle tension or weakness
  • Pins & needles or numbness
  • Reduced mobility and function

Chiropractic combines science and holistic care to help your body function at its best. Specific and targeted adjustments can improve spinal health, posture, flexibility, and overall wellbeing. Many people also use chiropractic care to support sports performance and injury prevention.

Who Can Benefit?

Chiropractic care is suitable for people of all ages and lifestyles:

  • Families: babies, children, adults, and seniors
  • Office workers: posture and movement support
  • Athletes: enhanced performance, recovery, and injury prevention
  • Anyone seeking better mobility, pain relief, or general wellness

Some patients visit initially for back pain, neck pain, headaches, or arthritis, but many continue with regular care because it helps them feel better, move easier, and function to their best potential.

Understanding Your Symptoms

Your nervous system controls every movement and process in your body. Spinal misalignments can interfere with these signals, potentially causing pain, tingling, numbness, or reduced function.

Unlike painkillers, which mask symptoms, chiropractic care aims to address the underlying cause leading to less interference and better functioning. To do this, we:

  • Take a full health history
  • Perform a physical assessment, this can include neurological, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal screening, evaluate posture, range of motion, and gait.
  • Use digital X-Ray facilities on-site if needed
  • Refer to your GP for further tests if necessary

Your chiropractor then uses safe and effective adjustments to restore spinal function and support your body’s natural healing processes.

What to Expect from Chiropractic Care

A typical care plan may include:

  • Targeted spinal adjustments
  • Exercises and stretches to strengthen and support your spine
  • Posture, lifestyle, and movement advice to prevent recurrence

Chiropractic care is personalised, evidence-based, and focused on helping your body adapt to daily stresses even on the hard days.

New & Returning Patients

Whether this is your first visit or you’re returning after a break, we take the time to get a full view of your health and history so we can provide the best possible care.

Before Your Appointment

To make your first visit as smooth as possible, please complete our Online Intake Form or bring the following information to your appointment:

  • Current medications and dosages
  • Diagnosed conditions (with dates)
  • Past operations or medical procedures (with dates)

Completing the form ahead of time allows your chiropractor to review your details before your visit, but don’t worry — if you can’t complete it online, we’ll go through everything together at your appointment.

First Appointment – Initial Consultation

Your chiropractic journey begins with a consultation and examination.

  1. Health Questionnaire: We’ll send you an online form to give your chiropractor a clear picture of your health and symptoms.
  2. Discussion: On the day, we’ll talk about your symptoms, how they started, previous treatments, what makes them better or worse as well as your goals we will work towards.
  3. Physical Examination: Your chiropractor will assess your spine, joints, and muscles, checking for tension, inflammation, or restricted movement. Neurological and functional tests may also be performed.
  4. X-Rays (if needed): We have state-of-the-art digital X-Ray facilities on-site. X-rays help us detect injuries, arthritis, scoliosis, or other conditions that may affect your care.

After this assessment, your chiropractor may perform a gentle first adjustment to see how your spine responds. This is considered part of the examination.
